Emotional Health Supports
Sometimes chronic health problems, the cumulative loss of family and friends, and the isolation of living alone bring on feelings of sadness, anxiety, frustration, restlessness or depression.
Eldersource care managers are trained to identify these symptoms, and we can provide helpful emotional health support in the comfort of your own home.
We have two programs proven to help older adults regain emotional well-being. After learning more about you and your concerns, we will talk with you about which type of counseling can provide the most benefit.
Eldersource emotional health interventions include:
(Program to Encourage Active and Rewarding Lives for Seniors), is offered in the home for eight sessions over a five-month period. PEARLS is an empowering, skill building approach that encourages you to fully engage in your own treatment and outcomes. You and your PEARLS coach are a team, working together to teach/learn valuable tools to effectively respond to the common problems that often lead to depression. By defining the problems, becoming more socially and physically active, and adding in the rewards of pleasant activities, you will feel better and enjoy life more.
(Professional Assessment and Treatment for Homebound Seniors) provides emotional health support to address anxiety and depression and linkages to other mental health services during four to eight in-home sessions.
Help is just a phone call away at 325-2800.
For both programs, you must be age 60 or older and a resident of Monroe County (Rochester, NY).
*Note for allied professionals: PEARLS is an evidence-based program developed and tested in Seattle Washington. Eldersource counselors work in conjunction with professionals from the University of Rochester.
